NC House Democrat Candidate Shelly Headen Calls for an Attack on United States Soil

Headen indicates that “our only hope is an attack on US soil”

RALEIGH, N.C. — On March 4, 2025, NC House District 62 Democratic candidate Shelly Headen commented on a Facebook post that read, “You know things have gone to hell when you start rooting for other countries to put yours in its place on the global stage.”

In response to the post, Headen wrote, “I think our only hope is an attack on US soil…preferably Alabama, Louisiana…where the stupid people live.”

In her campaign, Headen has described herself as a candidate who is “Running to Restore Human Decency.” However, it is unclear how expressing hope for an attack on U.S. soil is consistent with that message.

Either way, Shelly Headen has a lot to answer for.
